ANNUAL FARE INCREASE: 1 JANUARY 2027

This serves as Putco’s formal communication of its intention to implement an annual fare increase on 1 January 2027 in response to the continued rise in operational costs associated with the provision of its public transport service.
We are aware of the current state of the economy that has led to serious financial constraints for many families in South Africa. We therefore assure all our passengers that the company will do its best to implement a reasonable fare increase that will not further burden workers and others who rely on our service.
We further urge members of the public not to speculate on the fare increase amount, because doing so could lead to misinformation and confusion. The final fare increase amount will be communicated through formal passenger forum structures and all official Putco communication platforms before December 2026.
