Two Putco drivers have made it to the Top 10 of the prestigious Hollard Highway Heroes competition which promotes safe driving. Jackson Themba from the Soshanguve Business Unit and Lindiwe Tshabalala from the Greater Soweto Business Unit outclassed competitors to secure a spot as one of the country’s best drivers. Telematics systems were used to assess their braking habits, speeding and overall safe driving and they came out tops!
Operations Executive Jack Sekwaila says, “Congratulations Lindiwe and Jackson. We are proud of you. We are confident that more of our drivers will enter the competition next year and showcase their skills, particularly after the refresher training they have undergone. There’s been an improved road safety record and high levels of positive customer service feedback and it means we are doing something right. I also want to thank all the operations and other teams that have facilitated this process. Team work always.”
Putco driver Tholo Levy Manamela brought the trophy home in 2024 when he scooped the overall Hollard Highway Heroes Driver of the Year Award in the bus category.
