35 graduate interns have joined Putco and will spend the next two years learning skills needed to improve their employability. Putco launched its 2026 graduate internship programme at the Larimar head offices in Sandton on 4 June. The interns have been placed in different departments across all Putco depots. These include the Human Resources, Operations Finance and Marketing Departments.
This programme is a partnership with the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA). Skills Development Manager Refilwe Dlamini says there has been a steady increase in the number of graduate interns recruited. “This shows our commitment to the skills development of students who have just graduated. We welcome our interns and wish them all the luck in their new journey.”
Gabisile Mweli who joined Putco as a receiver intern in Soweto and now works as a buyer in the Buying Department, motivated the new cohort to grab the opportunity provided to them and learn as much as possible so that they have the necessary skills at the end of the programme. “Today, each of you have been given an opportunity. Not everyone who applied was selected. The fact that you are here means someone saw potential in you. The responsibility now rests with you to turn that potential into performance. Make the most of your story that starts today.”
The programme will take place over the next two years.
